Absinthe by winter renshaw

I received an ARC for an honest review.
At the start of this book, you are knee deep in an awkward situation. Halston (great name by the way) is the person that is just larger than life, and doesn’t follow the rules. Her principal, a total rule follower and of course, an enforcer, has just found out that his hot phone sex, anonymous, relationship has been with this, his student!

Sounds good right?!

The problem is that her nasty, jealous cousin makes up all sorts of lies and gets both of them in a crap ton of trouble. This is where I get frustrated. Because chapter after chapter is, “one year later” and “another year later”. I’m so upset. Why so much wasted time?

Don’t want to give to much away, but this book had me hook line and sinker! Their relationship was so beautiful. I loved that, although she had a tragic childhood, it wasn’t all about that. She didn’t need him to save her, she did that all on her own. I really loved this book!!

Something Tattered by Sabrina Stark

I received an ARC for an honest review

Let me start by saying I LOVE Melody!!! I love her! I wanna be her best friend and go for coffee! And Joel…don’t even get me started. So sweetly swoonworthy (yes that’s a word!) I can’t stand it!!

Melody is daughter of a famous artist that has passed away. She’s a celebrity and liveson an estate, but is destitute.

The closest thing she has to a brother is in charge of her estate for a few more years and he is aweful.

As payback for embarrassing him, the “brother” sets up Joel for a huge embarrassment. That’s how Melody and Joel meet. They are so sweet together. Joel, his whole life was told he wasn’t good enough. So between his low self esteem and the evil “brother”, these two have a lot to over come. I will warn you, this book ends on a cliff hanger. I need the next book ASAP!

I received and ARC for an honest review.
This is book 2 in the Trident Code series. Unfortunately, I didn’t read book one, but the description I read said it could be read as a stand alone, so I’m all in!!

Sara and Kyle meet in a bar. Their chemistry is stinking hot! She is a professional cheerleader but tells him that she’s a college student and cheers for school. He is a Seal but tells her he plays football professionally. Not exactly starting out on solid ground. But when fate steps in, after he didn’t call the day after their explosive night together, they are on the same page. This was a fun, quick read with no cheating and a happily ever after…life is good!

Sarah Jo and Pick have an instant chemistry. She’s a new comer hiding in plain sight from a wrongful accusation and he is the hot hotshot that is smitten with her instantly. This book is funny! The inner dialog had me laughing out loud. I very much enjoyed this page turner! This is the first book that I have read by this author and all I have to say is, Annie Marsh…you now have a total fan in me!!

Dominick and Camilla are already heavily involved at the start of this book. He is is fighter from the wrong side of the tracks, and she is the high society, rich girl that he fell for. We follow their relationship as they define where they both stand, and what the expect from each other. I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I loved that the author didn’t throw in a bunch of misunderstandings or forced obstacles. Just really great writing. I loved that it has a happily ever after and that there is beautiful loyalty.

The Rebel by Alice Ward

I received an ARC for and honest review.
I loved this book. Sean is the lovable bad boy turned good that thinks he’s still bad (if that makes sense). This is a love story, with , of course a man and women, but also with a man that through no fault of his own, is estranged from his 8 year old daughter. I loved seeing him earn her trust and love more than anything. There is this beautiful venerability to Sean. He is insecure because of poor decisions. He is compelled to do the right thing, especially for his daughter. Taylor was also a lovable character. She brings so much to Sean’s life. This was a wonderful read!!!!

Shame me not by Fiona Cole

I received an ARC for an honest review.

This is perhaps one of the steamiest things that I have ever read…and that’s saying something. I mean, in the beginning of the book, the deed hadn’t even been done yet and my heart was thumping like nobody’s business !!

But where this author and this book had me, heart and soul was the Gilmore girl debates! I almost lost it at the reference to being team Jess verses team Sean or Logan. (It’s the little things in life:)

Then, my heart was ripped out as trouble came. Everything in this book made me feel so intensely.

My only teeny tiny complaint is that I hated the wasted time when they were not together. I just wanted to scream at them!!! Just a little. But that complaint is just me knit picking.

I loved this book!!!

I loved the friendship! I loved the message encapsulated perfectly in the title. Shame me not.

Shame. Panic. Desire. Dominance. Disgust.

All feelings that I was familiar with from the age of sixteen. That’s when I met Ana. The girl next door who became so much more. Until her, I was alone in the dark desires that I didn’t understand, that I couldn’t reconcile.

My best friend, she accepted me. Helped me see that there was no shame in the things that we both craved. Her submission was a drug, my dominance over her a high that I’d never experienced. When we were together, I was at peace for the first time in my life.

But it was too good to last. Our own guilt over our feelings, of our appetite for pain and pleasure, destroyed us.

I was convinced that all I needed was a chance, just one more chance to overcome my shame, and Ana would be able to trust me again.

If only it were that easy.
