Rule Him by Gisele St. Claire

I received an ARC for an honest review.
This is one of the smartest student/teacher romances that I have ever read. I fell in love with both characters right away. Candy…bravo to Ms. St. Claire for that fabulous name! Candace Appleton! I love it!!! She is to mature for any of the boys her age. In walks the new English teacher. They have instant chemistry, physically and of intellect. She wants to be a writer and he recognizes her passion from their first study session. Their romance plays out so organically. Of course being a forbidden love type of book, they run into obstacles, but again, so beautifully written. It is with a satisfied sigh that I whole heartedly recommend this yummy book!

Small Town Scandal by Daisy Prescott

I received an ARC for an honest review.
I have never read anything by Daisy Prescott, and I usually don’t like second chances romances. But this one won me over. I usually get caught up in the heart ache and the time lost. The story was just so believable. Kids, pressured apart by parents and familial stupidity. Now coming into their own. They tackle their feelings, the town, her reputation, and how she feels she is seen. Every chapter was titled with a derogatory name for a woman such as slut, easy, etc. That was very sobering for me. It hurts to think of the double standards for men and women. The author did a great job of driving this point home.
The love story was beautiful. Their rekindling was heart warming and full of chemistry. All in all, this was a really fun read!

Trust by Kylie Scott

I received and ARC for an honest review.

This book starts out with a literal bang…a robbery that is frighteningly real. My heart was pounding as if I was living through the robbery with our heroin, Edie. The story progresses so beautifully and is perfectly paced. John and Edie meet during the robbery. He saves her life, and is the most unlikely hero, as he is the local drug dealer. The robbery changes both of their lives forever. I love the relationship between John and Edie. I love the relationship between Edie and her mother. This story moved me. Kylie Scott has a huge fan in me!! This is a stand alone, although I would love to read more about their best friends!!!

The Chosen by J. R. Ward

“I’m not going to apologize for who I love. In fact, I’m grateful this destiny is mine. If I had fallen for another, I wouldn’t have been forced to be this strong—and there is nothing wrong in this world or the next in finding out your own power.”

Ok?? Ok??!!!!!

How great is that?? This book is AMAZING!!!!! Please, please J.R. Ward, please keep writing this series!!! And can I just say I am on the edge of my seat hoping, waiting, for Lassiter’s book! I’m just saying, I love that angel!

I don’t want to give anything away about this book. But I will say, I love Zcor. I love Layla. I love every female in this book! I love Wrath. That king edged his way deeper into my heart in this book. Blay? He’s a keeper!!!!

I don’t like Quinn, like , at all!!! That’s all I’m going to say about that. This book has so much bang for its buck, and I don’t mean that in a dirty way, although, this author writes steam like no other! Ultimately, this book is about forgiveness. Go get this book now!!! Seriously stop reading…do it now!!!! You’re welcome;)

Deceit can be Deadly Law of the lycans book 8

I hate to do this, but I really wasn’t a fan of this book. I am a big fan of this series and this author, but this book was hard to get through. I found it boring. Ugh! I’m sorry!

I didn’t feel any chemistry between the main characters. I didn’t  t even find them likable. The story line was confusing. But…

I did like visiting with the old characters from other books in this series.

I’m going to refrain from my rating system. It would just be mean.

Home Tears by Tijan

So if you read my reviews you know that I hate giving bad reviews. Really really really hate it. These stories are born of artists who paint with words. It has to become a very vonerable thing, to put your heart and soul out there and have people judge it. That is why this is so hard. First let me say that I LOVE Tijan! All of her books are amazing with characters that are loyal and love fiercely and completely. This book started great for me. I loved Dani from the start. My problem with this is book is two fold. First, there is so much going on. I feel like there could have been two or three books in this one. Instead, I feel that only the surface was penetrated where I wanted to dig deep. Second, I hate one of the characters. Hate hate hate him. I hate that there is cheating and that it’s ok. I hate that she is blamed for the cheating. I hate that Dani is basically abused by her sisters and aunt and that’s ok. It’s something she has to take responsibility for. That’s not ok with me.  I will say that I love Tijan’s writing style and some of the characters were down right scrumptious. But some were nauseating. I would still recommend this book.
