Being young is all about the experiences: the first time you skip school, the first time you fall in love…the first time someone holds a gun to your head.
After being held hostage during a robbery at the local convenience store, seventeen year old Edie finds her attitude about life shattered. Unwilling to put up with the snobbery and bullying at her private school, she enrolls at the local public high school, crossing paths with John. The boy who risked his life to save hers.
While Edie’s beginning to run wild, however, John’s just starting to settle down. After years of partying and dealing drugs with his older brother, he’s going straight—getting to class on time, and thinking about the future.
An unlikely bond grows between the two as John keeps Edie out of trouble and helps her broaden her horizons. But when he helps her out with another first—losing her virginity—their friendship gets complicated.
Meanwhile, Edie and John are pulled back into the dangerous world they narrowly escaped. They were lucky to survive the first time, but this time they have more to lose—each other.

I received and ARC for an honest review.
This book starts out with a literal bang…a robbery that is frighteningly real. My heart was pounding as if I was living through the robbery with our heroin, Edie. The story progresses so beautifully and is perfectly paced. John and Edie meet during the robbery. He saves her life, and is the most unlikely hero, as he is the local drug dealer. The robbery changes both of their lives forever. I love the relationship between John and Edie. I love the relationship between Edie and her mother. This story moved me. Kylie Scott has a huge fan in me!! This is a stand alone, although I would love to read more about their best friends!!!

Twisted: A Dive Bar NovelBy Kylie Scott
This book was much anticipated by me. The first book was a funny, sexy read that left me feeling all gooey inside. This book is no different. Although the story line is extremely different, and I love that! Totally different journey same gooey feeling.
Alex and Joe meet in an on line dating site. When she goes to meet him, low and behold, he’s not who he said he was. Joe used his brother’s profile to meet Alex and the on line relationship developed with that deception firmly in place. And we take it from there…
Here’s a little excerpt just so you can see how funny meets sexy…
“Is sex all you ever think about? I’m just trying to comfort you, Alex. Be there for you as a friend. Stop trying to twist this into something dirty.”
“That would be easier if we weren’t both naked.”
Just yum is all I have to say about this book!
Joe and Alex made me laugh, they made me cry, I held my breath for them, wanted to beat some people up for them, and ultimately they just made me fall in love with them!
Go get this book!
