Crown of Lies by Pepper Winters

This is my favorite line in the book:
“I dumped the contents onto his ridiculously sexy swept back hair then leaned in until our noses brushed. “Come near me again, and I’ll strike a match to see how well liquor and fire like each other.”

In some books, not all, there is a level of mystery. How is this going to resolve? What is going to happen? And then, a moment of clarity. You see the perfect conclusion. It’s so beautiful you want to cry. But, you realize , it might not go that way. What if your perfect ending is not what the author had in mind?
Well, this book ended on a cliff hanger!!!! Ugh!!! So I won’t know until June what the ending of this story is!! That was cruel Ms Winters!!!! Very very cruel.

But, I did love this book!

The Pepper Winters books that I’ve read are usually dark. The content is not my usually fun read. But this author writes so beautifully, that it is palitable. This story starts out rough. Honestly, I was wondering if I had the stomach to read it. But then a hero comes. He saves the CEO damsel, so the intense scenes seem forgivable as no foul is followed through with. But then the book takes you on this wild and lusty ride with and unlikely couple.

Great read.
