The Gamble by Alice Ward

The Gamble
I am voluntarily reviewing this ARC.
First, I need to spend a moment to appreciate the main character’s name. Talen. Can you stand it?? Now I want another child so I can name him Talen. Someone named Talen is destined for greatness!!

Name aside, this was a fun read. A drunken mistake turns into a business arrangement turns into something else entirely. I enjoyed the plot. I enjoyed the characters. I enjoyed seeing the love story evolve. I recommend it!

The Hunt by Alice Ward

The Hunt by Alice Ward
I received an ARC for an honest review.
Ok, so when the book starts out with an unexpected belly laugh at the grandmother getting kicked out of church for disagreeing with the minister during service, loudly… you know you’re in for a good time!
I had to stop reading to write this so I don’t forget because I don’t know what the rest of this book holds for me, but this is a love story. Not a sex story. This is a story of a man who is finding actual love for the first time. And this is the type of story that makes my insides all gooey and soft.

This is the type of story that makes me sigh and smile. That’s isn’t to say I don’t like the, um, get down on it, kind of story, because I do. But this is just…yea…
About 50% through the book, you understand the title. I wanted to cry. Good tears. I won’t ruin it. But I had to get that in. This book is deep and beautiful!
As I finish this book, I am so happy, and sad cause I’ll miss them. This was an all encompassing read. If had all my feels. Happy, steamy, jealousy, family love, loss and friendship. It’s one of those books that you have to read.
Loved, loved, loved it!

The Rebel by Alice Ward

I received an ARC for and honest review.
I loved this book. Sean is the lovable bad boy turned good that thinks he’s still bad (if that makes sense). This is a love story, with , of course a man and women, but also with a man that through no fault of his own, is estranged from his 8 year old daughter. I loved seeing him earn her trust and love more than anything. There is this beautiful venerability to Sean. He is insecure because of poor decisions. He is compelled to do the right thing, especially for his daughter. Taylor was also a lovable character. She brings so much to Sean’s life. This was a wonderful read!!!!
